General Siciid Xasan Faarax, the commander of police forces in Northeastern Somalia (Puntland), has provided a comprehensive briefing on recent security operations conducted by regional forces in an exclusive interview with Somali National Television and Radio Mogadishu.
The senior police official revealed that recent tactical operations have yielded significant results, with security forces successfully apprehending 906 suspects involved in various criminal activities. These operations, targeting what the commander referred to as "maandooriyaha" or criminal networks, were conducted across multiple districts in the region.

General Faarax specifically highlighted operations in the Awdal area, located near the Ethiopian border, describing it as a strategic location where criminal elements had established operations. He noted that Puntland shares an extensive border with Ethiopia, which presents ongoing security challenges that require constant vigilance and coordinated border management.
The commander also detailed operations conducted in the Sanaag region and Taleex district, where security forces worked to dismantle criminal networks and establish government authority. He emphasized that these operations form part of broader efforts to combat drug trafficking, human trafficking, and other illegal activities threatening regional stability.
